Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

Village Pizza is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Unbelievable! Even though it's right around the corner from my apartment, I almost never order from there because it's so mediocre and it's yet another Greek pizza place. They have a couple of things going for them, though. First, it's open til 11 every night except Sundays. Yeah, eleven's not that late, but you'd be surprised at how many pizza places close at 9 or 10 around here. The other thing is their massive menu. Aside from the usual pizza/grinders/calzone stuff, you can also get fried Oreos and fried cheesecake, chicken dinners, steak tip dinners, hamburgers, seafood, ribs, tres leches cake, wings, gyros, and frozen yogurt. For pizza, you can get regular, thin crust, or deep dish with a great variety of toppings. There are quite a few specialty pizzas, too. It's also the last non-chain pizza place left in CF. Free cheesy bread with any 25 dollar purchase!

If your looking for identity theft this is the place to go. If you have something delivered and pay with a credit or debit card they want to take a impression of your card "Which is illegal in the state of RI" and then they want to take down your drivers license # as well. Never have I seen the before at a restaurant. Going to contact the attorney general as well on this. Stay Away!!!!

Neighbor introduced me to Village Pizza as a quick delivery in the area. I have to say I have not been disappointed. I have stuck mainly to the wings both boneless and bone in. I love the teryaki and the buffalo is good. I generally prefer boneless and they don't disappoint with the size of them. The curly fries are good as well. I will eventually venture into more things in the menu but the wings are keeping me satisfied so far. Delivery is always quick as well.

These guys are absolutely great. Nice clean establishment. I had the 12" Steak Bomb. It was delicious. They have a huge menu. Everything you can thing of. Unlike the city, Village Pizza doesn't plan on filing for bankruptcy anytime soon. : )

After moving here 2 years ago I couldn't find a pizza place that satisfied me until I came upon this place... Delivery was fast, food was way better than expected!!!! Don't look no further order from here... This place will blow your mind!!!!! 10 stars**********

The manager called to apologize and try and make things right. Things were okay that night once we got our hot pizza and this review was just a vent. Appreciate the apology from management. Give them a go and see how it goes for you.

I so WANT to like this place because I have spoken with the manager who is very friendly. Unfortunately, my order this past Sunday was less than spectacular. Placed the order online, all is well. Didn't get my food for almost an hour. In the usual fashion, the delivery driver opted to call me rather than simply walk to the door and knock. Really? This is their JOB, simply get out of the car. Don't make me stand there looking like an idiot waiting in the cold so you can get your things together and make it to do the door. The was food was COLD. Who wants to eat cold mozzarella sticks? I certainly don't. Especially because when they get cold and the condensation in the styrofoam container ends up back on the food it just gets soggy and gross. The pizza was also less than spectacular and you guessed it, cold. Toppings on the pizza iare abundant but it feels like a band aid more than anything. They need to fix their crust, this is the second time I have noticed it to be a weird combination of burnt and undercooked at the same time. Like the oven was entirely too hot and it was rushed to be cooked. It is just too bad.

Ryan and I were itching for pizza, wings, and more in preparation for the epic Patriots game (spoiler alert: WE'RE GOING TO THE SHIP!). We could've gone with our usual pick, Domino's, but I wanted to try a new place and Village Pizza kept coming up as a local favorite and also, their menu is MASSIVE. After spending a good 20 mins examining their menu online, we finally narrowed down our options. I ended signing up for their online ordering system which was actually really easy to use. Also, I love that signing up allows you to collect points towards free food (seriously, always up for free food!). Here's what we ordered: - Sicilian Pizza - BBQ with Pulled Pork - Cheesy Bread - 10 wings (5: Citrus Chipotle Sauce and 5: Garlic Parmesan) - 2 liter Dr. Pepper All of this came out to $45 with tip...and no, we were not feeding a party of 5 people..it was just us 2. -_- INSANE, right? I'll be honest, I ate the majority of the cheesy bread. The dough was tasty and I like the slight sweetness of the marinara sauce. Ryan and I split the wings, which were pretty good. Would've liked for them to be crispier but the sauces were yummy. We only had a few slices of the pizza because we filled up on everything else. As it was Sicilian style, it was a very thick crust and very filling. The pizza was tasty and will definitely make for some tasty leftovers! The service took longer than usual but of course, it was one of the busiest times for delivery pizza. Either way, the food came hot and fresh! Will definitely order from Village Pizza again!

Try the bone-in wings! Had them tonight (along with pizza) and they were great. I had asked for boneless wings but they sent bone-in wings - at first glance I was annoyed...but once I tried them...I have to say - crisp and tasty! They have tons of sauce options - I tried honey BBQ and it was really good. I did get it on the side (in case I didn't care for the sauce) - so that could have helped the wings stay crispy during the delivery commute. Mmmm....might go back into the kitchen for some late night leftovers!

Pretty decent turn around from call to getting the pizza. Loyalty program could be a bit better, but still nice you get free food for repeat orders. Wings are really good. Gyros are ok. Pizza sauce is a bit bland, but overall is good with some generous toppings. Awesome selection for those who want salads or apps too!

  • George B.

Overpriced soggy pizza!! I ordered a medium pizza and was charged 14.75 for 1 pizza that I could have gotten fora about $8, elsewhere or for $5.55 at Domino's. I ordered my pizza well done and it was soggy. We also ordered a linguica pizza and they skimped out on the topping, but they sure overcharged. I will NEVER order from this place again. Domino.'s and Papa John's before this place!!! I swear to that!5 If you want great pizza, go to an Italian pizza shop that makes Brooklyn style pizzas. The two house of pizzas in Pawtucket are really good and of course you can go to East Boston if you really want a pizza experience! Don't waste your money or insult your taste buds, here!

  • Manar B.

Best calzones ever! I love the ability to customize the toppings you want online. The food has always been pretty warm even though online orders takes about an hour to arrive, aside from fried appetizers which are bound to become soggy by the time they arrive. Delivery people are usually nice too, had a really nice delivery guy today!

My boyfriend and I just moved to the Pawtucket area and decided to try places we've never been before. We've only ordered take out from here. The first time took almost an hour to get our order delivered to us, but it could have been they were extremely busy because our food did arrive hot, not piping (as I would have liked), but enough for me to know we weren't forgotten. The pizza was delicious, the sauce is sweet and savory, its not super greasy like other pizza joints, and you get a lot of food for your buck. They have awesome specials and the menu is seriously the real McCoy with amazing photos of their food. We've ordered here twice and have loved the food we've gotten. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone local.

Really good pizza, always get the Sicilian pan pizza just awesome, grinders are pretty good too, never a bad meal there.

Tried their take out & delivery over the weekend. It's the boy's job to place the order if I offer to pay, so we did just that. He called the order in sitting beside me-girl on the other end confirmed and double checked his requests and then they mixed up the order. (Requested sliced green olive and grilled buffalo chicken, but we received fried plain chicken with kalamata olives.) (No, I'm not pregnant.) It really wasn't a big deal, but it was a bummer especially since we trying it for the first time. Pizza and salad were delivered in the same bag. We both agreed that the sauce was pretty bland.

A month later and still nothing has been done. Manager has not contacted me back and ive left a few messages. And i Googled my location to Village Pizza and it was not even a three minute drive so i dont understand why such lousy, lousy service.

Updating my review again. My husband and I just tried out Village again, with a credit from the owner to apologize for some rough service in the past, and everything was great. The driver was here in 30 minutes and was polite. The food got here hot and was tasty. More than we could finish. The jalapeno hot sauce is some of the best I've had in RI.

Usually the food is ok but do not get fried chicken it was nasty, "note to village pizza can't fry every piece of chicken only certain parts" soo disappointed

This is our go to for delivery in Pawtucket. We 'be tried most in the area and Village is by far the most delicious. Their delivery people are SO nice and the food arrives super hot. We've had lots of pizza , meatball subs, gyros, steak bomb grinder and salads. The salads are surprisingly crisp, even the cucumbers. Everything we've had has been above average. We loooove their online ordering, too!

  • Mimi S.

Decent pizza place - I like them because they deliver to Pawtucket. Made the mistake of ordering my pepperoni pizza with mushrooms, though - mushrooms were piled on & it was just too much. Their basic pizza is very good, so next time I'll stick with just cheese or pepperoni. The sauce is sweet, crust is on the thin side & crispy on the edges. Their cheesy garlic breadsticks are AWESOME. Avoid the steak & cheese - it tasted like cardboard.

Wanted to try out one of my childhood favorite pizza places and see how it's faring. While the pizza is not the same, mostly crust wise, it was very fresh and good. I was very impressed with the staff and how friendly / accommodating they were. They checked in with us frequently even though it is counter service and they also gave my daughter free samples of clamcakes.

  • Andrew D.

I order food from here frequently and I have never had a bad meal. My favorite meal is the bourbon steak tip dinner which is enough food for 2 people. The steak tips are very tender and are not chewy , they give you a pound of French fries which are some of the best fries I have eaten. They have an extensive menu and you would be hard pressed not to find something you don't like.

Now that I live in this area and have ordered a few times. I'm hooked! Pizza has a nice sweet tomato sauce. Boneless chicken tenders are rocking, especially the garlic Parmesan flavor. And when I order they always ask if I want fries for 99 cents and the serving is huge & so good! They got a coating on it or maybe how it's fried that just doesn't taste like a regular bland fry. The menu is huge and even has desserts! I am officially a fan

Now, there must be something good about Village pizza because I keep coming back for more. I can say that I haven't had a bad meal here. Chicken wings excellent no matter what flavor but I usually get garlic parmesan and spicy buffalo. French fries are plain but good as hell! Try the American Anthem pizza with mozzarella sticks bake inside and you can have them soft, medium or crunchy. You can't go wrong with the appetizers love the fried pickles that have some spice to them and the mac and cheese bites awesome. For dessert the fried Oreos and bananas fosters bites are excellent. Seedy area but I'm not there long enough to see what trouble I can get into ;-) Village Pizza is just an overall consistent place with great food and I'm definitely a fan

I am writing an update to my original 1 star post and comment below! the owner Manny reached out to me on my cell phone. Manny was the example of a excellent restaurant owner. He apologized for the lack of customer service I received and for the lack of bacon. He also thanked me for helping to make some changes with the staff and food, and put a credit on my account. It's the little calls and apologies that make all the difference. Thank you Manny :) we will be calling Friday!!! Terrible......One star that's it... Ordered a club sandwich it looked fabulous!!! Then noticed there was a quarter of a strip of bacon on each half of the sandwich!! Unreal don't mess with people and bacon!! Chicken wings are the size of quail legs don't even waste your money a buck a wing REALLY.. Called to tell them About the bacon they didnt give a crap.. Don't eat there

The food is great. I like most of the appetizers, the gyro, the sandwiches, and wings. The only thing is that you have to pay in cash if you don't want to give you credit card's security code. Everything else is great otherwise.

Helllloooo central falls! Thank goodness they delivered to my house in providence. We tried the spinach and artichoke rangoons which had just enough filling and the mozzarella triangles, both were crispy and triangular food taste best! The wings are sauced just right we had the buffalo(im melting) and the bourbo(sweet relief) and the fries are not your average spuds. Of course we had to try dessert. We chose the tres leches cake, it was the cool sweet end to a delisciously crispy spicy meal. And they gave us $5 off so its like dessert is free. :) we will be calling the village again soon.

Used to order once a week now can't beg family to let me. I don't eat pizza much so can't comment much but family and guests complain the sauce is too sweet on the pizza. They say it tastes like sugar. I took a bite last time and they were right. Love the wing dings tho.

I didn't have a great experience the first time I tried this establishment but I was impressed with the owner, Manolis, who reached out to me after my experience to see if he could make things right. I've "Yelped!" for a number of years and this was the first time that someone from a restaurant that I commented on actually reach out to me in earnest to correct things and ask for a second chance. I couldn't take him up on his offer right away but about 45 days later I reached out to him and he remembered me said that his offer still stood. I ordered buffalo wings and a large cheese pizza for my 3 sons and we ate like there was no tomorrow. The wings were perfect, crispy, and flavorful, this time around and the pizza was very good with some of the tastiest sauce that I've had on a pizza since I moved to RI. I will be back again for more and it is primarily because this establishment has an owner who genuinely cares and as a business owner myself I can really respect that. They employ a lot of folks in Central Falls and I will be supporting this Pizza place on a regular basis. Thanks Manolis!

I don't understand the glowing reviews of this place. I live super close and they do have good deals so I ordered from here quite a few times when I first moved in. The food is all okay. The pizza is meh, the grinders are meh. The only things that are actually good are the wings and the fries. And the service is just terrible. I swear 75% of the time I place an order there it is wrong. I understand mistakes happen once in an while but human error can't even explain the sheer number of wrong orders I've gottten from this place. And every time I call to complain about it they just "ummmm" at me. Like once instead of buffalo wings they dropped off plain wings. I called to let them know and the person on the phone said "ummm. . . .do you want. . .we can make you new wings?" Really? Seriously, I just order from Dominos now whenever I have a party and need some pizza. Just as good, always accurate and somehow they get to my house faster than village pizza despite being farther away!

Update: I received a call from the owner in response to the bad service I had. Manny was very nice, he apologized and offered to credit my account. I really appreciate that he reached out to me and seemed concerned about my experience. The food here really is good and the selection is wonderful. When I make my next order and my food is delicious, I'll upgrade to 5 stars.

Got a menu in the mail the other day and we decided to try it. We had heard of the place but didn't think they would deliver as far away as ar are. Turns out they do. We haven't tried the piazza, this was our first order. I had a combo boneless wing and fry box. It was 8 wings and a pile of fries for around seven bucks. That was good deal but the wife got a better one. She had the lasagna dinner. It was I big (1.5pound) lasagna, salad and garlic bread for ten bucks. Cant beat that. Oh, and it was good too. The boneless wings were standard resturaunt tenders with sauce and a thing of Kens blue cheese dressing. They were good and hot and so were the fries. No complaints. Wife liked the lasagna though she says I will like it more as I like a lot of ricotta cheese and sauce. It did look really good to me and it was huge. We also had banana bites and fried oreos. The bites were good and I didn't even get a cookie though they looked good. All in all a good meal and value. We will be ordering again.

I have fallen in love with Village Pizza. My first trip there and I thought they where a standard family pizza parlor with a menu too big for their own good. And I was half right - they are a family pizza parlor and their menu is huge. But they are far from standard, and unlike most places, they seem to handle their menu just fine as everything I got was, at worst, very good! So far, I can say that their mango smoothies are amazingly addictive and their fries are nice and soft of the inside while maintaining a semi-crunchy exterior and being reasonably flavorful. Their fried cheese balls are yummy, and their boneless chicken tenders are delicious (we've tried the Chipotle and Sweet & Sour varieties). As for pizza, all 4 different specialties we've tried have been good. I highly recommend this nice pizza place - they've got to be doing something right for being around for over 40 years!

Super happy to have discovered their menu in my mailbox. Their garlic cheese bread sticks are damn tasty and they have an awesome variety of chicken wings. I like the buffalo, but the teriyaki wings are pretty special. For take-out, this place is great.

I'd say I'm a pretty big food buff but I've never felt it necessary to spread the word when coming across a hidden jewel. I am selfish in the way that if I find something I love, I want it all to myself but after experiencing such great service- I found myself gravitating towards the computer to tell the general public just what they're missing out on. It's amazing to see the difference between hard working family owned businesses and the corporate establishments infesting America. We forget the difference between quality and navigate towards quantity. Sure, go pick up your phone and hit up Domino's and enjoy your mediocre pizza while I enjoy my gourmet pizza made by people that know me by name. Thanks, Village Pizza!

The manager called to apologize and try and make things right. Things were okay that night once we got our hot pizza and this review was just a vent. Appreciate the apology from management. Give them a go and see how it goes for you.

  • Bill R.

The mozzarella sticks awesome, fries good, hot wings good, but the steak and cheese was funky I wouldn't get again it just had a strange flavor. The place was slow but if I'm in the area again I would go again.

I have been here many times.... have to say, impressed with the quality of food at this very reasonable price point....large portions and what I ordered was well seasoned. I have had Pizza and subs both and each I would have no issue recommending... good stuff and quick on service....

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
